Loudoun Dems VA Senate Delegation Rips Presumptive SD31 GOP Nominee For “dangerous politics,” “dark and divisive vision,” “blatant attempts to stoke fears and divide our community”

In stark contrast, Senators John Bell, Jennifer Boysko and Barbara Favola argue, "[Democrat] Russet Perry has dedicated her life to serving the people of our region"

It’s good to see the Loudoun Democrats State Senate delegation – Senators Jennifer Boysko, Barbara Favola and John Bell – going after the presumptive SD31 Republican nominee. As they say in their statement (see below), Juan Pablo Segura’s announcement “outlined a dark and divisive vision for the Commonwealth and for Loudoun County,” launched “all too familiar attacks on our public schools and with intent on stoking a far-right culture war,” and is clearly “content using the same divisive politics as failed far-right candidates before him.” Let’s just hope they’re right that “when given the chance, voters will see through Segura’s blatant attempts to stoke fears and divide our community and will reject this kind of dangerous politics.

Loudoun Democratic Senate Delegation Statement on Announcement of Republican Candidate For SD-31

Richmond, VA – Today the Loudoun Democratic Senate delegation, Senator Jennifer Boysko, Senator Favola, and Senator John Bell, released a statement on the announcement of Juan Pablo Segura for Senate District 31:

“This weekend Republican candidate Juan Pablo Segura announced his candidacy for state Senate and outlined a dark and divisive vision for the Commonwealth and for Loudoun County. Riddled with all too familiar attacks on our public schools and with intent on stoking a far-right culture war, it’s clear that Segura is content using the same divisive politics as failed far-right candidates before him.

“In comparison, Russet Perry has dedicated her life to serving the people of our region. Through her career as a prosecutor in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties and as CIA officer, under both Democratic and Republican administrations, Russet is the right choice for the 31st District and Commonwealth. Our region has seen its fair share of hateful, divisive rhetoric over the past two years. We’re confident that when given the chance, voters will see through Segura’s blatant attempts to stoke fears and divide our community and will reject this kind of dangerous politics.”
