Former VA Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R) Predicts “Almost Certain Defeat” of Trump in November 2024; Adds, “I hardly recognize the GOP today. It has been taken over by conservative ideological extremists”

Of course, Bolling can't avoid a complete b.s. false equivalence, but still...

Former VA Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R) can’t help but draw a bulls*** false equivalence with Democrats (for the record, in no way/shape/form has the Democratic Party “been taken over by liberal ideological extremists and purists who really don’t understand how government must work in a divided and polarized society”), but still…gotta love this:

“I held public office as a Republican for more than twenty years, but honestly, I hardly recognize the GOP today. It has been taken over by conservative ideological extremists and purists who don’t understand how government must work in a divided and polarized society.”

Here’s Bolling’s entire post, replete with misspellings/typos (as is Bolling’s wont):

TRUMP INDICTED AGAIN, THIS TIME IN GEORGIA
Former President Donald Trump has been indicted in Georgia for his involvement in an alleged scheme to manufacture votes following the 2020 presidential election.

This is the fourth time in five months that Trump has been indicted for alleged criminal activity involving his personal business dealings, his alleged mishandling of classified documents, and his alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. (I say alleged because in our judicial system every defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty before a jury of their peers, even an unpopular former President.)

Repubicans will see this as just another effort to persecute Trump and weaponize the judicial system to harm his chances of being reelected in 2024, this time by a liberal, Democratic prosecutor in Fulton County, GA. Democrats will see it as a long overdue effort to hold Trump accountable for his questionable activities following the 2020 election.

Regardless of how you see it, one things is clear, Trump is going to spend much of 2024 in a courtroom defending his honor and trying to stay out of jail. What a spectacle it will be for the man who wants to carry the Republican Party’s banner into the 2024 campaign.

And amazingly, a large percentage of Republicans appear willing to overlook Trump’s current perdicament and let him be their standard bearer, which will lead to almost certain defeat next November.

I held public office as a Republican for more than twenty years, but honestly, I hardly recognize the GOP today. It has been taken over by conservative ideological extremists and purists who don’t understand how government must work in a divided and polarized society.

Unfortuantely, the same could be said for the Democratic Party, which has been taken over by liberal ideological extremists and purists who really don’t understand how government must work in a divided and polarized society.

It all reminds me of the old adage: We have met the enemy and he is us!

Fortuantely, there are still good people in both parties who are not ideological extremists and purists, and they do understand how government must work in a divided and polarized society.

Their voices are being drowned out at the moment, but I hope they will soon find their voice and restore some sense of normalcy to our political process before it is too late.
