At noon today, the 2024 session of the Virginia General Assembly begins, with new leadership in both chambers (including Don Scott as the first African-American Speaker of the House of Delegates in HISTORY; also Scott Surovell as the new Senate Majority Leader – good luck to them!) and a lot to get done, including a two-year budget, debate/decisions over the proposed Wizards/Caps arena in Alexandria, constitutional amendments, and much more. On a related note, at 10 am today, “Virginia House and Senate Democrats will gather in the new General Assembly Building (GAB) to unveil their joint messaging framework – Keep Virginia Moving Forward.” I’ll post that video as soon as it’s available.  Also, see here for some of the best and worst bills introduced so far.

P.S. Oh, and later today, we get to listen to Glenn Youngkin spew out a bunch of bad/destructive proposed policies and dishonesty (including taking credit for the strong Biden economy, without in any way giving credit to Biden). Can’t wait! LOL
