Virginia Delegates, Former Delegate David Toscano, & Impacted Virginians Call Trump’s “Concepts of a Plan” to Repeal the ACA ‘Terrifying,’ ‘Backwards’

Following Donald Trump pledging yet again to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Delegates Amy Laufer and Katrina Callsen, former House of Delegates Democratic Leader David Toscano, and Virginians directly impacted by the ACA hosted a press conference in Charlottesville on Wednesday highlighting Vice President Harris’ New Way Forward plan to lower health care costs and strengthen the ACA that 45 million Americans rely on, including more than 1.1 million Virginians — and a record number who signed up for ACA marketplace coverage just this year.

Speakers responded to Trump’s comments saying he’s going to “end the Affordable Care Act … based on a concept and take us back to when insurance companies had the power to deny people with pre-existing conditions.”
