Obviously, I’m not a fan of Sinclair-owned WJLA TV7, but I do give them credit for interviewing all the Democratic candidates running for the SD32 nomination today (“firehouse caucus” from 9 am to 4 pm – voting locations in Sterling, Brambleton, South Riding and Ashburn; see below for more detailed information). The candidates – who you can see interviewed, below – are Del. Kannan Srinivasan, former Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney Buta Biberaj, Sree NagiReddi, Puja Khanna, Hurunnessa Fariad and former VA Del. Ibraheem Samirah. May the best candidate win!

P.S. There’s a vacancy in SD32 because the current State Senator, Suhas Subramanyam, was just elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for VA10. For some information on SD32, see VPAP – 100% located in Loudoun County, very diverse (43.8% White, 30.4% Asian, 14.2% Hispanic, 10.6% Multiracial, 8.1% Black), heavily Democratic (McAuliffe won the district 60.2%-39.3% in 2021), etc. Despite this, some leading Democrats are concerned that in a low-turnout special election in the middle of the winter (on January 7, 2025), anything could happen, so they’re not taking this for granted at all – nor should any of us, especially given that the Democrats have just a narrow 21-19 State Senate majority!
