VIRGINIA – Today, Virginia Democrats released a new ad highlighting Winsome Earle-Sears – in her own words – downplaying the attacks on Virginia jobs as the unemployment rate in Virginia increases. In the audio first reported by Meidas Touch, Winsome Earle-Sears says “the media is making it out to be a huge, huge thing… and I don’t understand why.”

Reporter: New unemployment claims in Virginia are skyrocketing.
Narrator: Northern Virginia unemployment claims rose 7.1% in February. Over 53,000 people unemployed. Virginia families are dealing with the economic fallout. And what does Winsome Earle-Sears have to say?
Winsome Earle-Sears: So, if you lost your job, and how many here have ever lost a job? Oh, you mean it’s not unusual? It happens to everybody all the time? Okay. And the media is making it out to be this huge, huge thing. And I don’t understand why.
