RICHMOND, Va. — Today, immediately following last night’s primary election, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger released a new TV and digital ad in her campaign to serve as the next Governor of Virginia, “Halls.”
The ad highlights Spanberger’s background growing up in Virginia, keeping the American people safe as a CIA case officer, and serving as the most bipartisan Member of Congress from Virginia. “Halls” also highlights her focus on making Virginia more affordable.
Spanberger recently announced her plan to lower Virginians’ healthcare and prescription drug, housing, and energy costs as part of her “Affordable Virginia Plan.”

Abigail Spanberger: I’m Abigail Spanberger. I grew up walking the halls of Tucker High School.
After 9/11, I walked the halls of CIA as a case officer, working counterterrorism.
And then I walked the halls of Congress where, despite the dysfunction, I got things done and was named the most bipartisan Member of Congress from Virginia.
As Governor, I’ll work to lower costs, and make sure our schools prepare all our kids for jobs of the future.
V/O: Spanberger for Governor. Service. Country. Commonwealth.

BACKGROUND
Abigail Spanberger has always served our communities, our Commonwealth, and our country — first as a federal law enforcement officer, working narcotics and money laundering cases. Then, she served as a CIA case officer, working undercover on counterterrorism and nuclear counterproliferation cases — as well as tracking transnational criminal organizations.
In 2018, Spanberger became the first Democrat since 1968 elected to serve Virginia’s Seventh District in Congress. During her time in the U.S. House, she was consistently ranked as the most bipartisan Member of Congress from Virginia.
Abigail and her husband Adam are the proud parents of three school-aged daughters in Virginia public schools. Spanberger graduated from J.R. Tucker High School in Henrico County and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
