Good stuff from Abigail Spanberger’s campaign:

“Span Virginia Bus Tour” Keeps Rolling: Spanberger Meets Virginians in Lynchburg, Appomattox, Prince Edward, and Charlottesville

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — On Tuesday, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger continued her “Span Virginia Bus Tour” across the Commonwealth with stops in Lynchburg, Appomattox, Prince Edward, and Charlottesville.

During her stops, Spanberger listened to Virginians discuss the issues that matter most to them and emphasized her commitment to always putting Virginia first. Throughout the day and into the evening, she outlined her “Affordable Virginia Plan” to lower healthcare, housing, and energy costs. Spanberger also continued to make clear her commitment to protecting Virginians’ jobs, strengthening Virginia’s economy, putting Virginia on the path toward having the best public schools in America, and defending Virginians’ fundamental freedoms — including the right to choose.

LYNCHBURG

Spanberger kicked off the fourth day of the “Span Virginia Bus Tour” by rallying with a standing-room only crowd at Three Roads Brewery in Lynchburg. There, Spanberger outlined her plans to make Virginia more affordable, strengthen the Commonwealth’s public schools, and stand up for Virginia and Virginians amid the chaos coming out of Washington.

APPOMATTOX

While on the road, Spanberger made a quick pit stop at Baine’s Books & Coffee in Appomattox.

PRINCE EDWARD (FARMVILLE)

After touring the Roberta Russa Moton Museum in Farmville, Spanberger spoke in front of a packed room after visiting the historic restored Moton schoolhouse and museum. Spanberger also met with Virginians and listened to the issues their community faces — from the rising cost of living to the damage of potential federal funding cuts.

CHARLOTTESVILLE

Spanberger capped the day alongside Senator Ghazala Hashmi and Delegate Jay Jones — Virginia’s Democratic nominees for Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General — at Eastwood Farm and Winery in Charlottesville to mark the three year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs ruling. Spanberger reaffirmed her commitment to working with the General Assembly to pass legislation that would codify a woman’s right to access contraception and prevent politicians from dictating the personal healthcare decisions Virginia women can make.

BACKGROUND

Spanberger announced the launch of her “Span Virginia Bus Tour” last week at a rally at her high school alma mater, J.R. Tucker High School.

Along the “Span Virginia Bus Tour,” Spanberger is touting her plan to lower costs for Virginians — the “Affordable Virginia Plan.” Over the last month, she has held events across Virginia outlining this vision to lower healthcare, housing, and energy costs for Virginia families.

Spanberger served three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives from January 2019 to January 2025. During her three terms in Congress, Spanberger was consistently ranked the most bipartisan Member of Congress from Virginia.

Before Congress, Spanberger served as a federal law enforcement officer — working narcotics and money laundering cases. She then served as a CIA case officer — working on counterterrorism and nuclear counterproliferation cases. She and her husband Adam are the proud parents of three school-aged daughters in Virginia public schools.
