RICHMOND, Va. — Today, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger — a former federal law enforcement officer — released a new TV and digital ad in her campaign to serve as the next Governor of Virginia, highlighting her record of service to her community, Commonwealth, and country.
The latest ad, titled “Dad,” describes the example of public service that Spanberger’s father — a career law enforcement officer and U.S. Army Veteran — set at an early age. “Dad” outlines Spanberger’s own record of service — first as a federal agent investigating child predators, working narcotics cases, and arresting drug dealers; then as a CIA case officer, working counterterrorism cases. Additionally, the ad highlights Spanberger’s ranking as the most bipartisan Member of Congress from Virginia during her time in the U.S. House.
Spanberger recently completed her eight-day “Span Virginia Bus Tour,” where she highlighted her “Affordable Virginia Plan” to lower healthcare and prescription drug, housing, and energy costs for Virginia families.

Martin Davis [Spanberger’s Father]: You dream that your kids follow in your footsteps and, for me, that dream happened.
My daughter Abigail went into law enforcement just like me.
She worked drug cases and helped take child predators off the street. Then she joined the CIA to keep our country safe.
Even though Congress is so divided, she worked with both parties to get things done.
Service is something I was always talking about — and I guess Abigail was listening — and that’s how I know she’ll make a great Governor.
V/O: Spanberger for Governor. Service. Country. Commonwealth.
