RICHMOND, Va. — The Spanberger for Governor campaign today released a new TV ad, highlighting Winsome Earle-Sears refusing to stand up against the Trump Administration’s attacks on Virginia jobs and Virginia’s economy as Trump’s reckless actions threaten the livelihoods of thousands of Virginians.
The new TV ad follows a recent CNN interview during which Sears refused to “participate” when asked whether she supports Trump’s firing of thousands of Virginia workers. Sears said, “I’m just not going to participate, because I want to talk about real issues.” The ad will begin airing in Richmond and Norfolk media markets starting today.
In a July Fox News op-ed, Abigail Spanberger warned that the Trump Administration’s reckless actions are hurting Virginia families and businesses. Spanberger has frequently warned that the assault of Virginia’s workforce is hurting the Commonwealth’s economy. Spanberger also recently announced her “Growing Virginia Plan,” which is focused on boosting Virginia’s economy, protecting Virginia jobs, and creating opportunities for the next generation of Virginians.

Winsome Earle-Sears has repeatedly supported the Trump Administration’s attacks on Virginia jobs and dismissed the concerns of Virginians worried about their livelihoods.
- Earlier this year when discussing the cuts, she was caught on tape saying “the media is making it out to be a huge, huge thing… and I don’t understand why.”
- When asked what she would say to concerned Virginia workers and their families, Sears told Virginians facing layoffs “don’t fret.”
- As DOGE began hurting Virginia’s economy earlier this year, Sears said “I’m supporting what the President is doing.”
