Thanks to Rachna Sizemore Heizer’s campaign for this information. Democratic candidates for this position, in addition to Rachna Sizemore Heizer – who I am very impressed with, as I believe she’s done a great job on the School Board and would make an excellent Supervisor (plus she’s the heavy favorite in this race) – the other Democratic candidates are Fairfax County School Board member Ilryong Moon and Fairfax Young Democrats co-president Sabrina Mattin.  Anyway…it’s Virginia, so the elections never end; and in this case, we’re talking about “the  firehouse primary for Braddock District Supervisor on October 4, 2025, with early voting online available October 2–4″ (just 14 days from now), then the special election on December 9.  And all this while we’ve also got the races going on for governor, LG, AG and House of Delegates. Fun times, eh?

Braddock School Board Member Rachna Sizemore Heizer, who launched her candidacy this summer, continues to gain momentum with a strong grassroots campaign. Sizemore Heizer also announced the endorsements of Senator Jennifer Carroll Foy and Senator Saddam Salim today, adding to a growing coalition of support across Fairfax.

“As a State Senator, I know how important it is to have local leaders who are true partners. Rachna will work hand-in-hand with state lawmakers to deliver solutions on housing, transportation, and affordability for families in Braddock,” said Senator Jennifer Carroll Foy.

“Rachna and I share a common immigrant story — working tirelessly, managing financial challenges, and never giving up — which drives her fight to help others thrive. With a proven record of service and leadership, she’s the dedicated public servant Fairfax families need,” said Senator Saddam Salim.

The Sizemore Heizer campaign has already built strong grassroots momentum, with hundreds of individual donors , knocking on more than 5,000 doors, and drawing over 200 supporters to her campaign kickoff. She has also secured the backing of a majority of the Fairfax County School Board, Delegates Dan Helmer and Laura Jane Cohen, and local labor leaders.

“With this growing coalition, I’m ready to keep fighting to expand affordability, strengthen our schools, and stand up to MAGA extremism,” said Sizemore Heizer.
