Rob Wittman and Jen Kiggans Vote to Protect Trump’s Tariffs
Late last night, House Republicans voted against canceling Trump’s sweeping tariffs on Brazil which are partially responsible for coffee’s massive 20.9% price spike from this same time last year — the largest increase since the 1990s. In August alone, coffee prices rose 3.6%.

Vulnerable Virginia Republicans Rob Wittman and Jen Kiggans both voted to protect the cost-spiking tariffs.

Following the vote, Congressman Don Bacon (one of only two Republicans to vote against tabling the resolution), said the quiet part out loud:
Now, POLITICO is reporting that GOP Leaders are scheming to block any congressional oversight and accountability into Trump’s sweeping tariffs — including on Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and other nations.

REMINDER: Recent polling suggests Trump’s sweeping tariffs are deeply unpopular with the American people, with just 38% of Americans approving and an overwhelming 62% of people disapproving – up from 59% in June.

“Rob Wittman and Jen Kiggans promised to lower costs, but they voted to support cost-spiking tariffs that are only making things worse.”
