Fairfax County Democratic Committee Congratulates Rachna Sizemore Heizer, Democratic Nominee for Braddock District Supervisor
FAIRFAX, VA. – The Fairfax County Democratic Committee excitedly congratulates the caucus winner, Rachna Sizemore Heizer, who carried the day with 2,051 votes, or 60% of the total votes cast on the first ballot.
“This Democratic caucus offered four terrific candidates with years of experience serving the people of the Braddock District and Fairfax County. We are very excited to have given the folks in our community the opportunity to get to know them better,” said Braddock District Democratic Committee Co-Chairs Marguerite Wiese and Rich Weiss, “We know that Rachna Sizemore Heizer will exemplify our Democratic values and help lead Braddock forward in these challenging times.”
“We thank the 3,409 voters who showed their great enthusiasm for the future of Braddock District and Fairfax County by participating in this caucus,” said FCDC Chair Aaron Yohai, “We congratulate our Democratic nominee, Rachna Sizemore Heizer, and look forward to a robust campaign for Braddock District and Fairfax County’s future ahead of the December 9th special election.”
Regarding the extended hours for the caucus, FCDC can report that we contacted every voter registered after we had to discontinue voting on Oct. 4th. Our volunteers worked extensively up until 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 5th to ensure every voter who registered was able to vote and have their voice heard.
We are excited to continue supporting Rachna Sizemore Heizer heading into the Dec. 9th special election and plan to work extensively to ensure we keep a Democrat in the Braddock Supervisor office.

Rachna Sizemore Heizer Wins Braddock Special Firehouse Primary
BURKE, VA — Today, Rachna Sizemore Heizer won the Braddock District Special Firehouse Primary with 60% of the vote and becomes the Democratic nominee for supervisor in the general election, which will be held on December 9, 2025.
“Tonight, I’m deeply honored and humbled to share that together, we won the special Democratic firehouse primary for Braddock Supervisor,” commented Sizemore Heizer in a small gathering of supporters that included Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Jeff McKay and Congressman James Walkinshaw. “Your passion, your trust, and your support when we knocked on your doors, called, texted or met you out in the community— that is what made this possible. I thank you.”
Other candidates in the primary included School Board At-Large Member Ilryong Moon, Sabrina Mattin and April Pavis-Schroeder. Sizemore Heizer thanked them all for running in her remarks and for their service and passion on the campaign trail.
