RICHMOND, Va. — The Spanberger for Governor campaign today released a new TV and digital ad — the campaign’s final ad before Thursday’s gubernatorial debate at Norfolk State University — underscoring how Winsome Earle-Sears will always put President Trump first, no matter the cost to Virginia families.
The new ad, titled “Heard Enough,” highlights Sears’ praise for the Republican tax bill Donald Trump signed into law earlier this year that will raise costs for Virginia families. Sears said Trump’s tax law — which is projected to cause Virginians’ healthcare costs, mortgage payments, and utility bills to skyrocket — “does so many great things.”
As Sears continues to back Trump’s chaos that is making life more expensive for Virginia families, Spanberger is focused on making Virginia more affordable. Earlier this year, she announced her Affordable Virginia Plan, which lays out the concrete ways that her administration will get to work on day one to lower Virginians’ healthcare and prescription drug, housing, and energy costs.
The ad also calls attention to Sears’ long record of opposing reproductive rights for Virginia women — including supporting an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest. Earlier this year, Sears left a handwritten note saying she is “morally opposed” to the proposed constitutional amendment protecting reproductive freedom in Virginia — including access to contraception, abortion, and IVF.
