Verrry interesting new poll, by Clarity Campaign Labs (D), of the Virginia Attorney General’s race. Key takeaways are as follows (bolding added by me for emphasis):
- “Gubernatorial race: Abigail Spanberger continues her comfortable lead over Winsome Earle-Sears at 53% to 43% (+10), with 4% undecided.”
- “Lieutenant Gubernatorial race: Hashmi holds a lead outside the margin of error over Reid at 48% to 44% (+4), with 7% undecided.”
- “Attorney General race: Jones and Miyares are tied at 47% to 47%, with 7% undecided”
- “While Spanberger is safely leading the Governor’s race, and Hashmi holds a lead outside the margin of error, the Attorney General race is in a dead heat. While Jones lags behind the other two Democrats on the statewide ticket, he is well positioned to consolidate the 7% of Virginia voters who remain undecided.”
- “When voters only hear the messaging in Jason Miyares’ attack ads against Jay Jones, Miyares takes a single-digit lead in the race, but that lead is quickly reversed by a message about Miyares’ ties to Trump. UPDATE 3 pm: VCU is also out with a new poll, which has it at Spanberger 49%-Earle-Sears 42% (+7 for Spanberger); Hashmi 44%-Reid 43% (+1 for Hashmi); Miyares 45%-Jones 42% (+3 for Miyares). In sum…not awesome.
