RICHMOND, Va. — The Spanberger for Governor campaign today released a new TV and digital ad focused on Winsome Earle-Sears’ record of supporting an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest and using threatening langauge towards supporters of reproductive rights with violence.
The new ad, titled “Extremely Disturbing” highlights how Sears said in an interview that she supports an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest, called abortion “wicked,” and told supporters of reproductive rights days after the Dobbs majority opinion was leaked that “murder is murder and one day it’s going to be your turn.”
As Sears refuses to protect the fundamental freedoms of Virginia women, Spanberger will always stand up for Virginians’ fundamental rights. As the next Governor of Virginia, she has said she will sign the Right to Contraception Act into law and supports Virginia’s proposed amendment to enshrine reproductive freedom in the Virginia Constitution.
