Sick and tired of polls yet? LOL Well here’s another one (from the WaPo/Schar)!
- For governor, Abigail Spanberger’s up 12 points (54%-42%) over Winsome Earle-Sears among likely voters. That’s unchanged, basically, from the 9/29 WaPo/Schar poll, which had Spanberger up 12 points (55%-43%) as well.
- For Lt. Governor, Ghazala Hashmi’s up 7 points (51%-44%) over John Reid. That’s actually up three points from Hashmi’s 4-point lead (49%-45%) back on 9/29.
- For Attorney General, it’s tied 46%-46% between Jay Jones and Jason Miyares. That’s six points worse for Jones than on 9/29, when he led Miyares by six points (51%-45%).
- 51% think Jay Jones should drop out, while 41% think he should NOT drop out of the race.
- Also, by a 54%-41% margin, voters approve of the way Spanberger has handled this situation.
- Earle-Sears has a 37%-44% favorable/unfavorable rating, while Spanberger’s at 51%-36%; Miyares at 38%-32%, and Jones at 30%-45%.
- Top issues are: “Economy/Cost of living/Jobs/Housing”; “Anti-Republican/Trump/MAGA or pro-Democrat “; “Honesty/Other personal positive qualities”; “NET Education/Schools” (only 3% say “Policies about transgender students” is their top issue).
- Trump’s approval/disapproval is at 42%-57% (-15 points), a bit worse than in the 9/29 poll, which had him at -12 points (43%-55%).
- Also from the WaPo/Schar poll, despite relentless/frantic Republican efforts to try to tie Spanberger into this situation: “The texting scandal barely registered as a top issue as voters considered their choice for governor. Just 1 percent mentioned Jones’s text messages, the same share that mentioned either the government shutdown or concern for federal workers.”
