| Chesterfield County, VA— Disturbing new reporting has revealed that Republican Lt. Governor candidate John Reid operated a pornographic blog that fetishized Nazism, white supremacy, and sexual violence. Despite the shocking content, Reid has refused to drop out of the race.
Yet, Virginia Republicans like Chris Obenshain (HD-41), David Owen (HD-57), Paul Milde (HD-64), Sean Steinway (HD-65),Mark Earley (HD-73), Carrie Coyner (HD-75), Felisha Storm (HD-84), A.C. Cordoza (HD-86), Mike Lamonea (HD-89)— all seen campaigning with Reid have stayed silent more than 24 hours after the latest revelations.
“People who embrace racist and Nazi-linked beliefs have no place in public office. Virginia is a diverse state with people from every walk of life, and we deserve leaders who respect and reflect that diversity. The fact that Republican delegates are still standing beside John Reid and have refused to disavow him speaks volumes. Their silence is unacceptable — Virginians deserve to know where they stand, and they must speak out against this now,” said Amber Gantt, spokesperson for the Virginia House Democratic Caucus. |
