Spanberger’s “Virginia Votes Bus Tour” Continues Through Greater Richmond & Petersburg

On Thursday, Spanberger Made Stops in Hanover County, Richmond, Petersburg, & Chesterfield County

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. — Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger yesterday made stops on her “Virginia Votes Bus Tour” across Greater Richmond — meeting Virginians in Ashland, Richmond, and Midlothian — and also joining Virginians who are working to get out the vote in Petersburg.

Along four stops on Friday — four days until Election Day, Spanberger continued to make clear that as the next Governor of Virginia, she will get to work to lower costs for Virginians, strengthen Virginia’s economy, and make sure the Commonwealth’s public schools are the best in America. Spanberger also encouraged Virginia voters to cast their ballots on — or ahead of — Election Day.

Hanover

On Friday morning, Spanberger joined hundreds of Virginians in Ashland — making clear what’s at stake as Virginians go to cast their ballots this year. Alongside local leaders, Spanberger made clear that she will hit the ground running on day one to put Virginia first and deliver on the most pressing challenges facing Virginia families, businesses, and the Commonwealth’s economy.

Richmond

Spanberger then headed to Mama J’s Kitchen — a family-owned and operated restaurant in Richmond’s historic Jackson Ward neighborhood — for a block party with Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan (D-VA-04), additional local leaders, and community members. Spanberger laid out the stakes in this year’s elections and encouraged Virginians to make their voices heard, if they haven’t already.

Petersburg

Spanberger also joined Congresswoman McClellan, additional local leaders, campaign volunteers, and supporters for a canvass launch in Petersburg — rallying with Virginians who are working to get out the vote ahead of Election Day.

Chesterfield

Spanberger also joined Virginians at Brightpoint Community College in Chesterfield County, where she made clear that she is laser-focused on bringing down costs for Virginia families, growing Virginia’s economy, and strengthening Virginia’s schools as the Commonwealth’s next Governor.

BACKGROUND

Spanberger remains focused on putting Virginians first as their next Governor — by lowering costs for Virginia families, growing Virginia’s economy, and making sure Virginia’s schools are the best in the nation.

Earlier this year, Spanberger rolled out her Affordable Virginia Plan to lower Virginians’ healthcare, housing, and energy costs. The cost of living remains the top issue for Virginia voters.

In July, Spanberger rolled out her Growing Virginia Plan to grow workforce training opportunities for Virginians, bring more business investment to Virginia, and expand trade opportunities for Virginia businesses. In the face of the Trump Administration’s attacks on Virginia’s economy and workforce — attacks that led the University of Virginia to forecast that the Commonwealth will have virtually no job growth in 2026, Spanberger will stand up for Virginia jobs.

In August, Spanberger announced her Strengthening Virginia Schools Plan to strengthen Virginia’s child care and early childhood education programs, K-12 schools, and institutions of higher education. As a mom of three kids in Virginia public schools, Spanberger has a plan to make sure Virginia’s schools are the best in America.

The “Virginia Votes Bus Tour” is Spanberger’s second statewide bus tour of her campaign. Earlier this year, Spanberger completed her eight-day, 49-stop “Span Virginia Bus Tour,” which energized voters across the Commonwealth.
