KIGGANS FOLDS AGAIN: Jen Kiggans RULES OUT Bucking Her Party to Prevent Skyrocketing Health Care Costs

New reporting from Punchbowl News confirms that Kiggans “has ruled out” signing onto a measure that would force a vote on a clean three-year extension of the ACA tax credits. The measure has support from 214 of her colleagues and needs just 4 additional signatures – but Kiggans refuses to add her name, even as Virginians’ health care costs are set to skyrocket.

• Kiggans folded when she promised to protect Medicaid but instead voted for the largest cuts in history. Kiggans spent weeks touting her alleged concerns about Republicans’ plan to gut Medicaid but “folded” and cast a decisive vote for the cuts anyway. Kiggans’ vote is the reason why three health clinics in Virginia have already been forced to close their doors.
• Kiggans folded when she promised to protect clean energy tax credits but instead voted to slash them. Kiggans claimed to be a proponent of clean energy and expressed public concerns about rolling back energy tax credits but “flip-flopped” and voted to take a “sledgehammer” to them instead. Now, Virginia is losing millions of dollars in investment and electricity bills are rising.
• Now, Kiggans is folding again by refusing to buck her own party in order to extend ACA tax credits. Kiggans refused to sign onto a measure that would extend the ACA tax credits for three years even as Virginians’ health care costs are set to skyrocket.
