Here are a few international, national and Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Tuesday, January 6. And yes, it’s really been five years since one of the darkest days in U.S. history – and yes, in this f’ed-up timeline, Trump did NOT go to prison, let alone within days or weeks, for attempting a violent coup against our government and our democracy. It’s utterly f’ed up, there’s no other way to put it. Oh, and here in Virginia, just 11 months after 1/6/21, the voters “in their infinite wisdom,” as the sarcastic saying goes, actually elected the Trump-endorsed (and Trump-praising) Glenn Youngkin as governor. That was a crystal clear sign, not that anyone in the “mainstream media” (which was in overdrive whitewashing Youngkin as a “moderate”) raised the alarm, that we were in deep, DEEP trouble as a nation.
