See below for a press release from Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA11)’s campaign. For the record, I *strongly* support Rep. Walkinshaw for reelection; he’s doing a truly superb job and is a worthy heir to his mentor, Rep. Gerry Connolly.
20 State and Local Leaders from Across Virginia’s New 11th District Endorse Congressman James Walkinshaw for Re-Election
Leaders you trust know that James Walkinshaw understands the needs of our communities
Fairfax, VA – Today, 20 state and local leaders from across the redrawn 11th District of Virginia proudly endorsed Congressman James Walkinshaw for re-election, including every Democratic Delegate representing areas new to the 11th, the Chair of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, the Mayors of Manassas and Manassas Park, and the entire Manassas City Council.
“The success of our Commonwealth depends on cooperation across local, state, and federal governments. I come from local government, and I’ve seen firsthand that these leaders are on the front lines of the challenges facing our communities. I’m honored to have their support, and I look forward to building on our past partnerships to continue delivering real results for Virginia,” said Walkinshaw.
“I’m particularly honored to have so many supporters from Prince William County and Manassas, the community that raised me.” Walkinshaw added.
Congressman James Walkinshaw is a lifelong Virginian and graduate of Unity Reed High School in Manassas. He served more than a decade as Chief of Staff to the late Congressman Gerry Connolly, when the 11th District included parts of Prince William County. From 2020 to 2025 he represented the Braddock District on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. He served alongside state and local leaders on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and chaired the Regional Transportation Planning Board.
