Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA11) Keeps Working to Protect Federal Workers; the Real Answer Is To Kick MAGA Out of Power

UPDATED 1:15 pm: Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA11) rips the Trump administration for wanting to delete/erase Jackie Robinson, the Tuskegee Airmen, the Navajo Code Talkers, and now is waging war on the Smithsonian (as well as to take their “big orange eraser” to the truth of American history itself)! I couldn’t agree more with Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA11) on this – the Trump administration has been viciously attacking the nonpartisan/professional federal workforce (and government in general), trying to weaken important protections against politicization, etc. And I’m glad to see him introducing legislation to protect federal workers from bad working conditions (e.g., air quality). Unfortunately, as long as the Trump administration is in place, only bad things are going to happen – the only question being HOW bad, terrible, disastrous, etc. – with basically zero chance of anything good, positive or constructive coming to pass. Which is why we all need to turn out in droves this November to vote Democratic, up and down the ballot, so that Democrats can actually have some levers of power in Washington, DC for the two years heading into the 2028 presidential election (at which point, we desperately need to elect a Democrat, by OVERWHELMING numbers – too big to steal). We’d better not blow these opportunities, because if we do, we are completely f’ed as a nation.

Also, it’s very enjoyable watching Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA10) utterly demolish this guy from the extremist Heritage Foundation: “So you think that this this particular hearing on where the Smithsonian is putting Thomas Jefferson’s desk is more important than people facing higher utility costs”???

Rep. Don Beyer: “Dr. Hartig, you’ve taken a lot of heat today for saying that your love for America is complicated. I’d argue that all love is complicated because we’re not perfect and the people we love aren’t perfect…”
