See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (7/29) in Virginia we’re at 693,206 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 31,266 hospitalizations and 11,525 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was +1,101 (+0.16%) in the latest statistics, compared to +1,087 (+0.16%) yesterday.  As for hospitalizations, they went up 25 (+0.08%) compared to +33 (+0.11%) yesterday.  Deaths are reported +3 compared to +7 yesterday. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,959,637 (up 13,612 from yesterday). [NOTE: VDH isn’t updating on the weekends anymore, for whatever reasons…frustrating for keeping an accurate count of the statistics, and also premature given that the pandemic isn’t over!]
