MCLEAN, VA – Today, Terry McAuliffe visited Marymount University to highlight its COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all students and staff, and discuss the work the school has been doing to get its community vaccinated. Terry was joined by co-chairs of Todos Con Terry, the campaign’s Latino coalition, to highlight the impact of COVID-19 on Virginia’s Latino community. Marymount University is the first hispanic-serving institution in Virginia, with more than 25% of the undergraduate student body identifying as Latino.

Last week, Terry was endorsed by over 50 Latino leaders from across Virginia as a new coalition, Todos con Terry, citing Terry’s strong record of support for the Latino community and his plan to get COVID-19 under control and keep Virginia’s economy on track. As governor, Terry will create good paying jobs, make health care more affordable, invest in education, and continue his commitment to ensuring that all Virginians are treated with dignity and respect.

Following the Food and Drug Administration’s announcement granting full approval of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, Terry McAuliffe called on all Virginia employers to require the COVID-19 vaccination for all eligible employees. Terry has also called on all health systems in the Commonwealth to institute the same requirement for health care employees, and urged all Virginia school divisions to require staff and personnel to be fully vaccinated in order to keep schools open and protect Virginia’s over one million K-12 students – many of whom are still ineligible for vaccination. Last month, Terry for Virginia announced it would require campaign staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Recent national polling shows that Americans overwhelmingly support vaccine mandates.

Terry has released 18 detailed plans to strengthen Virginia’s economy, tackle the rising costs of healthcare, create more good-paying jobs, and lift up all Virginians.
