From DPVA:
Across the Commonwealth, Virginians Stand Up Against Governor Youngkin’s Discriminatory Anti-Trans Policy
Richmond, VA – Today students across the Commonwealth staged a walkout in opposition to Governor Youngkin’s proposed discriminatory policy that would strip away trans students’ rights.
From Northern Virginia to Southern Virginia, Fairfax County to Culpeper County, thousands of students are taking a stand against Youngkin’s hateful policy:
This comes after public comment opened on Youngkin’s proposed policy and Virginians made their voices heard — overwhelmingly opposing it. In just over a day, Virginians have made almost 20,000 public comments.
“Governor Youngkin seriously miscalculated,” said DPVA Spokesperson Gianni Snidle. “Students, teachers, parents, and Virginians alike are voicing their opposition to Governor Youngkin’s discriminatory anti-trans policy. His policy attacking some of the youngest and most vulnerable members of the LGBTQ community is out of step with Virginians and is just plain cruel.”
