Audio: Former, Two-Term VA LG Bill Bolling (R) Says Glenn Youngkin Should Pledge to Serve Out His 4-Year Term; “one-term VA governors focusing on national campaigns a year into their term, that is never helpful”

This morning on right-wing talk radio (WRVA), former Virginia Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R) had some pointed words for Gov. Glenn Youngkin regarding his campaigning around the country instead of focusing on the job he was hired to do. Check it out; asked if there’s any way for Republicans to take back the VA Senate next year and hold the House of Delegates, LG Bolling said:

“Well I think it’s possible, but I think it will be close. I think a lot of it will depend upon how Gov. Youngkin’s approval ratings are holding; they’ve felt pretty good so far. But I think he’s going to have to show a lot of focus on Virginia and not on the national [chuckles] political spectrum…I do [think that’s hurting him], I think it’s historically hurt every Virginia governor who has done it. I think he would be much better off to say, look folks you elected me to a 4-year term, I intend to serve out a 4-year term, if I have any national ambitions it will be AFTER my 4-year term as governor. Anything that he does that deflects that attention away from Virginia in the minds of the voters will hurt him, just like it hurt Doug Wilder, just like it hurt Jim Gilmore. One-term Virginia governors focusing on national campaigns a year into their term, that is never helpful.”
