That’s right, we’re now just one month out for the election that will decide – no exaggeration whatsoever – whether we remain a democracy (albeit flawed), a country governed by the rule of law, a constitutional republic – or descend into a dystopian nightmare of authoritarianism…or even fascism. Because if Trump wins, this time around there’d be no guardrails on his worst instincts, with the extremist “Project 2025” and its authors very much in charge – destroying the federal government, turning over Ukraine to Putin, trashing NATO, ruining the environment for generations if not millenia to come, stacking the courts with anti-reproductive-freedom/far-right judges, you name it. Want to prevent that from happening? Then follow the example of the Virginia Democrats pictured below and: a) vote early (Democratic up and down the ballot, of course); b) remind everyone you know to do the same; c) volunteer in any way you feel comfortable/inspired to do; d) donate to the Harris-Walz campaign; etc.
On the positive side, just imagine how happy we’ll be if we wake up on November 6 to President-Elect Kamala Harris, VP-Elect Tim Walz, Sen. Tim Kaine reelected in a landslide, new members of Congress Eugene Vindman, Missy Cotter Smasal, Suhas Subramanyam, etc? How about President Kamala Harris with a Democratic Congress? Imagine all the good stuff that governing team could accomplish? So…30 days to make it happen; “leave it all on the field,” as Eugene Vindman said this morning!
