Americans’ confidence in Trump is tanking as his approval rating on the economy plummets to its lowest point ever. 

• A majority of Americans (55%) are not confident in Trump’s ability to make good decisions about economic policy
• Just 37% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the economy, his lowest rating ever

Americans are scared for the future as pessimism about Trump’s economy hits record highs. 

• 53% of Americans say their financial situation is getting worse, marking the first time since 2001 that a majority has expressed financial pessimism
• 58% say it is a bad time to find a quality job — the most pessimistic outlook since the peak of the pandemic in January 2021
• 3 in 4 Americans — including two-thirds of Republicans — say they are concerned about the future of Social Security under Trump and shadow President Elon Musk
