Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA01), Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA02) Both Stand By the Big Ugly Bill Even As It Shutters Health Clinics, Jacks Up Costs for Virginians, etc.

See below for statements about two politically vulnerable Virginia Republican members of the US House, Jen Kiggans in VA02 and Rob Wittman in VA01, both of whom are standing by their support of Trump’s damaging, disastrous Big, Ugly Bill – the one  “that just shuttered three health clinics in the Commonwealth” and is “jacking up costs for Virginians.” In November 2026, Virginians definitely need to vote both of these horrible members of Congress out of office.

DCCC Statement on Jen Kiggans Campaigning With House Republican Conference Chair on Her Big, Ugly Bill
Augusta Health announced just days ago they are closing three health care clinics in Virginia directly because of Kiggan’s vote
In response to Congresswoman Jen Kiggans campaigning with House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain in Virginia to tout her Big, Ugly Bill that just shuttered three health clinics in the Commonwealth, DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin issued the following statement:“It’s stunning that Congresswoman Jen Kiggans is campaigning on her Big, Ugly Bill just days after three health care clinics in Virginia were forced to close their doors as a direct result of her vote. Kiggans lied when she promised she would protect Virginians’ health care, and we are already seeing the devastating consequences play out. Voters will hold Kiggans accountable for her record of ripping away health care from 350,000 Virginians, shuttering health clinics and putting rural hospitals like Southampton Medical Center at risk, increasing already long wait times, and jacking up costs for Virginians.”

Shannon Taylor Statement on Rob Wittman Touting His Harmful Budget Bill That Just Shuttered Three Health Clinics in Virginia

Henrico, VA –  Today, Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney and Democratic candidate for Virginia’s 1st Congressional District Shannon Taylor issued the following statement in response to Congressman Rob Wittman campaigning alongside Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain to tout his disastrous budget bill that will rip away health care from 350,000 Virginians, jack up health care costs, and  just forced Augusta Health to close three health care clinics in Virginia:

“It’s incredibly telling that Rob Wittman would choose to celebrate his harmful budget bill just days after Augusta Health announced they are forced to shutter three health clinics in Virginia as a direct result of his vote,” said Taylor. “Wittman is responsible for these closures, and his vote will jack up health care costs and rip away coverage from 350,000 Virginians. After nearly 20 years in Washington, Wittman would rather roll out the red carpet for his D.C. party bosses than actually fight to protect Virginians. When we beat Rob Wittman, I’ll protect our families, lower costs, and expand access to the quality, affordable health care we deserve.”

Last week, Augusta Health announced that they are forced to close three health clinics in Virginia directly because of Wittman’s budget bill.

After joining a letter to House leadership claiming he opposed gutting Medicaid, Wittman voted to cut roughly $1 trillion from the program and rip health care away from more than 24,000 people in VA-01. Now, Wittman is lying to constituents about the devastating impacts of his vote.
