See below for statements about two politically vulnerable Virginia Republican members of the US House, Jen Kiggans in VA02 and Rob Wittman in VA01, both of whom are standing by their support of Trump’s damaging, disastrous Big, Ugly Bill – the oneĀ “that just shuttered three health clinics in the Commonwealth” and is “jacking up costs for Virginians.” In November 2026, Virginians definitely need to vote both of these horrible members of Congress out of office.

Shannon Taylor Statement on Rob Wittman Touting His Harmful Budget Bill That Just Shuttered Three Health Clinics in Virginia
Henrico, VA ā Ā Today, Henrico County Commonwealthās Attorney and Democratic candidate for Virginiaās 1st Congressional District Shannon Taylor issued the following statement in response to Congressman Rob WittmanĀ campaigning alongside Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClainĀ to tout his disastrous budget bill that will rip away health care from 350,000 Virginians, jack up health care costs, and Ā just forced Augusta Health toĀ close three health care clinicsĀ in Virginia:
āItās incredibly telling that Rob Wittman would choose to celebrate his harmful budget bill just days after Augusta Health announced they are forced to shutter three health clinics in Virginia as a direct result of his vote,āĀ said Taylor.Ā āWittman is responsible for these closures, and his vote will jack up health care costs and rip away coverage from 350,000 Virginians. After nearly 20 years in Washington, Wittman would rather roll out the red carpet for his D.C. party bosses than actually fight to protect Virginians. When we beat Rob Wittman, Iāll protect our families, lower costs, and expand access to the quality, affordable health care we deserve.ā
Last week, Augusta HealthĀ announcedĀ that they are forced toĀ close three health clinicsĀ in Virginia directly because of Wittmanās budget bill.
AfterĀ joining a letter to House leadershipĀ claiming he opposed gutting Medicaid, Wittman voted to cut roughly $1 trillion from the program and rip health care away fromĀ more than 24,000Ā people in VA-01. Now, Wittman isĀ lying to constituents about the devastating impactsĀ of his vote.
