See below for photos from this weekend’s protests around Virginia against ICE, in honor of Renee Good, etc. I’ll update this post as I see more photos, video, etc.

  • “Renee Nicole Good should still be alive today. ICE is endangering our communities and must be stopped before anyone else is hurt or killed.” – ACLU VA

  • “Thank you to @stauntonvadems for organizing today’s pop up protest, and many thanks to our neighbors who braved the rain to remind everyone that ICE doesn’t belong in our streets.”

  • “Over 100 people gathered today in solidarity outside of Spineless Cline’s office to demand ICE out of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County for GOOD and NO war in Venezuela for oil.” – Jenna Crisler

  • “Demonstrators gathered outside the Norfolk Federal Building in downtown this evening to protest against deadly force by federal immigration officers. (See more photos through the link in comments.) (📸: Kendall Warner/The Virginian-Pilot)”

Great photos by Alex Sakes, as always!

“This afternoon, hundreds of Arlingtonians banded together in solidarity to honor the life of Renee Nicole Good and all of those who have had their lives stolen at the hands of ICE across our nation. Our message is clear, we will not stand idle as our Arlington community members live in fear of being stripped from their families or losing their lives at the hands of this inhumane administration where cruelty is a virtue. We will not be gaslit by those in power to believe that our eyes and ears are deceiving us. Now is the time to step up and stand for our neighbors, and for each of us to do our part by joining grassroots groups such as We of Action Virginia, Indivisible Virginia, La ColectiVA, NAACP Arlington Branch, Arlington Dems, and so many other organizations standing guard for justice and accountability.

Thank you to organizers and featured guests including Micaela Pond, Zuraya Tapia Hadley, Reverend DeLishia Davis, JD Spain Sr., Sheriff Jose Quiroz, Susan Cunningham, Maureen Coffey, Paul Weiss, Monique Bryant, Takis Karantonis, Parisa Dehghani-Tafti, and all others who worked tirelessly to put this rally on in such a short span of time.”

“ICE out of Waynesboro!!! I went to this rally instead of going over to Charlottesville. Thank you Waynesboro Virginia Democrats for organizing this rally! We got SO MUCH support from friendly beeps, waves, peace signs, folks touching their hearts!! It was really nice to see and feel. We had several aggressive men get very upset and drive by, back and forth screaming at us, flipping us off, stepping on the gas, and on 2 separate occasions, drove by recording us. Video of one upset MAGA man in comments.” – Jennifer Lewis
