I’m not sure what’s worst about this interview with Donald Trump’s New York co-chair, Carl Palodino: 1) the assertion that Donald Trump doesn’t represent a mere “election,” but about “ridding Washington of the Washington elite monsters that have given us this illicit government;” 2) the lies and disrespect for President Obama (“we’ve had to tolerate incompetence…a man who in every respect looks like he despises America…and this is disgusting”); 3) the bizarre, extreme language (“it doesn’t matter what kind of person is the exterminator, we want the racoons out of the basement”).
Now, I’m not 100% sure if that last comment was a racist reference (although it certainly sounds like one). But regardless, the type of vitriol, hatred, out-of-control rage and bigotry expressed by Trump and his supporters is like something out of the 1930s in Europe, not America in the 21st century. When confronted about his emails, Paladino blamed Democrats.”).
Again, this guy epitomizes Trump and “Trumpism” to a capital “T,” and it must be stopped. Any Democrat or Independent thinking about staying home in November seriously needs to reassess that stance ASAP and unite behind the Democratic nominee, who almost certainly will be Hillary Clinton. Fortunately, Clinton is super-smart and super-qualified to be an excellent President, so that shouldn’t be too difficult, especially considering the common enemy we’ll all be facing in Trump and his Paladino-like supporters. Ugh.
