Much talk these days of a wall to separate the United States from Mexico. Much talk about getting Mexico, which has no desire for the wall, to pay for it.
But if we really need to have such a wall, and if it is really important to have Mexico pay for it, here’s a possible solution:
The United States could let Mexico build the wall north of all the land that the U.S. took from Mexico – at gunpoint – in the 1840s. And whatever was south of the wall would belong to Mexico!
