Sen. Tim Kaine this afternoon in Alexandria: “You know why I’m really proud? I taught [Mark Herring] legal ethics [at the University of Richmond back in 1990], and then he became an Attorney General, and for the first time in a long time, he made the office of Attorney General’s mission very clearly that it’s an office that fights for justice. And that’s what an Attorney General should do; that’s what an Attorney General should do! You know, sadly, in Washington, our Attorney General now is not fighting for justice…We’ve had some amazing Attorney Generals — Eric Holder…Bobby Kennedy…You want to have an Attorney General that fights for justice; that’s not what the Attorney General’s office in Washington does now. But we’ve got a fighter for justice in Richmond, and we need to keep him there. So that’s why we’ve got to get Mark Herring elected.”
