Video: A Few Howlers from Terry McAuliffe’s “Exit Interview” on the Kojo Nnamdi Show

Check out the video below or Terry McAuliffe’s “exit interview” on the Kojo Nnamdi Show, which just concluded. A few howlers from this interview include:

1) Absurdly claiming to be “the most progressive governor in the history of [Virginia]”, which would be news to Harry Byrd (who implemented the gas tax, income tax and estate tax), Mills Godwin (the first governor to borrow money, founded the community college system and passed the sales tax) and Gerald Baliles (who implemented the last big gas tax increase);

2) Claiming he doesn’t “know what I’m going to do” politically, when he’s obviously running for president, and also that he doesn’t want to hear anyone talk about 2020 (which he’s done many times);

3) Spewing out Dominion Energy talking points on the fracked-gas pipelines, such as claiming that the governor has “no say” on them (FALSE!), that the pipelines will lead to a “renaissance of manufacturing jobs” in Virginia (hint: bulls***!), that they will be built in the “most environmentally friendly way” (hint: they won’t), that none of the gas will be exported (that’s highly debatable), and that the fracked-gas pipelines are somehow compatible with TMac being a climate champion (false – fracked gas leaks large amounts of methane, a potent greenhouse gas, so that these pipelines are estimated to be the equivalent of 45 new coal-fired power plants!);

4) On Metro funding, talking about how “I may introduce it, but I still got to pass it through my legislature” (notes: a) it’s not YOUR legislature and b) you won’t be there to “pass it through,” since you won’t be governor after early January 2018).

In sum, this was vintage Terry McAuliffe…and I don’t mean that in a good way. Ugh.
