As General Assembly Prepares to Meet, VCU Poll Finds Strong Approval of Gov. Northam, Top Democratic Policy Priorities

The latest polling from VCU’s Center for Public Policy finds mostly good news for Virginia Democrats, with voters strongly approving of top Democratic priorities. The only bad news, really, is that voters approve of the badly flawed redistricting amendment…probably because of the way the question was asked (“Do you approve or disapprove of the proposed constitutional amendment that passed calling for congressional
districts to be drawn by a 16-member panel of half legislators and half citizens? This would replace districts being
drawn by legislators which is current practice.”) and because they haven’t looked closely at what this “trash amendment” actually does (and doesn’t do).
