Thursday (2/4) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +3,059 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 516,398), +111 Hospitalizations (to 21,749), +75 Deaths (to 6,650)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (2/4), in Virginia we’re at 516,398 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 21,749 hospitalizations and 6,650 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 3,059 (+0.6%) in the latest statistics, which is the same faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 2,959 (+0.6%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 111 (+0.5%), which is a slightly slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 122 (+0.6%).  Deaths are reported +75, compared to +58 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,316,450 (up 15,572 from yesterday).
