Tuesday (2/16) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +1,770 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 553,308), +98 Hospitalizations (to 23,042), +21 Deaths (to 7,037)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (2/16), in Virginia we’re at 553,308 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 23,042 hospitalizations and 7,037 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 1,770 (+0.3%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 1,539 (+0.3%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 98 (+0.4%), which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 38 (+0.2%).  Deaths are reported +21, compared to +4 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,633,818 (up 11,473 from yesterday).
