President Obama has apparently now telephoned Shirely Sherrod. Here (above) is CNN’s summary of how we got to this place. The lesson is obvious: Do not believe anything presented by either Andrew Breitbart or FAUX News. We know that. I would think that folks with the best information in the world at their fingertips knew that already too. Apparently, not.
Perhaps the admin now will stop reactively responding based on the rantings of the worst common denominator. This is not the first time. I’ll say it again: Our side of the aisle doesn’t even listen to its base, but it knee-jerk responds to FAUX News and Andrew Breitbart. Something is very wrong in “Bipartisanville.”
Breitbart infamously edited video to falsely accuse Acorn and ultimately to destroy it. Are not Faux News and Breitbart’s vile, anti-civil-liberties ambitions clear by now? Are not their despicable mischaracterizations of President Obama sufficient for the administration to question everything the fringe, wrong-wing, fake media put out there?
Neither Vilsack, nor the Obama administration has any reason to get defensive with the FAUX News predators. Our side of the aisle should seek the facts, react appropriately and ignore the ignorant minions of Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and Andrew Breitbart. The country and the world will be better for it.
