If you haven’t noticed, all you have to do is check out the comments in this video (e.g., “Nasty liar.. I hope her all the worst! Skanky Democrat”; “Jennifer Wexton is a Democrat dumpster that only a true Looney Leftist would support. You turds will be destroyed at the polls in 2014. Real Americans know what needs to be done with you filthy bastards. Die slow traitors.”) and this one (e.g., “This woman is a pro-abortion pig. Any coward who supports abortion has the blood of babies on their hands.”) to get a taste of the foul vitriol spewing forth towards Jennifer Wexton, the Democratic nominee for State Senate in the 33rd district (the seat Mark Herring is vacating). The Republican nominee running against Wexton is the infamous anti-Semitic “joke” guy John Whitbeck, so it’s not like Republicans have a positive argument to make here. Instead, they’re putting out ads like the one below, Facebook pages like this one (in which they bizarrely quote from Lenin and more bizarrely seem fixated on the hair color of “Jinnie” – as they condescendingly call her. Raging misogyny? You’ve come to the right place: the Republican Party, circa 2014! Ugh.
P.S. Also see this pathetic ad by the extremist “Middle Resolution PAC” – notice the similar theme with the Facebook page, etc? Hmmmm.
