BREAKING (5:43 pm): According to Politico’s Jonathan Martin, “Good news for George Allen, who woulda been vulnerable from right in a convo: VA GOP central cmte just voted 48-26 for a PRIMARY in ’12 SEN.” Now, it will be interesting to see how they vote on Ken Kookinelli’s proposal to sharply increase filing fees for Republican candidates and impose fees on convention delegates. Those ideas were opposed by Bob Marshall and Bill Bolling.

UPDATE: Bob Lewis reports, “By lopsided votes, the committee also rejected proposals to charge delegates attending statewide Republican conventions up to $50, and to charge candidates for nomination filing fees in the thousands of dollars.”  Haha Cooch – you lose (Tyler Whitley agrees)!
