After many years of faithful service to Albemarle County, longtime Supervisor Lindsay Dorrier announced plans to retire earlier this year. Dorrier leaves large shoes for his successor after serving for decades as a leading advocate for  the citizens of Scottsville and southern Albemarle.  Scottsville residents now have an opportunity to select a highly qualified successor to Dorrier that will continue to advocate for the issues they care about. That is why we are thrilled that Christopher J. Dumler has stepped up to seek the Democratic nomination for the Scottsville seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors this year.

Dumler is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law who currently owns and operates a general law practice in Scottsville. Before commencing studies at UVA, Dumler graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemical and Bimolecular Engineering with highest honors. Since moving to Albemarle, Dumler has been exceptionally active in the community. In addition to his private practice, Dumler is an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps and a member of the Albemarle-Charlottesville Criminal Bar Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors of and as the Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Region Ten Community Services Board, the Albemarle County Natural Heritage Committee, and the Scottsville Town Board of Zoning Appeals and Government Services Committee.

An Eagle Scout and member of the Scottsville Chamber of Commerce, Dumler also serves his community as a volunteer firefighter. He is the Counsel of the Albemarle County Democratic Committee and a member of the Steering Committee.

We look forward to a competitive campaign as the candidates engage on the issues that matter to residents of Scottsville and Albemarle County. We are confident that Dumler’s message of smart investments in education, job creation and economic growth, and sustainable growth and development will resonate with the voters of the district.
