(This dirty energy summit is a damn dirty disgrace. Protest Protest Protest! – promoted by lowkell)

Next week, Governor McDonnell is holding his second Virginia Energy Conference. Based on his track record we expect more of the same: coal, gas, oil, nuclear, with limited commitment to renewable energy. We need to turn this around to safeguard our air and water and begin to address climate change.

    Here’s how we start:

The Good, the Bad and the Dirty Energy Demonstration/Picket Line

Join us outside the Richmond Convention Center for a demonstration/picket line on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 5pm.  Bring a sign promoting your favorite Clean Renewable Energy Solutions (wind, solar) and depicting the problems with dirty energy (coal and mountaintop removal coal mining, oil, hydro-fracking, uranium mining).

Then starting at 6pm, we’ll have a stand-in for Governor McDonnell who will deliver a Clean Energy speech we need to hear, not the Dirty Energy speech he will actually deliver.

WHERE: Richmond Convention Center, 5th and Marshall Streets

    RSVP: Click here to RSVP.

And don’t forget our Funeral for the Mountains, same place and same time but on Monday, Oct. 17.  Click here to learn more.
