The Senate voted yesterday to extend the Bush tax cuts for another year, for the 98% of Americans making under $250k per year (and also for 97% of small businesses). The question is, will the Republican-controlled House of Representatives vote to allow taxes for all Americans to go up next year, holding 98% of the country hostage to the top 2%? Will the Republican-controlled House of Representatives vote to add uncertainty, which they love to complain about but never DO anything about, to the nation’s “jobs creators?” Or, will the Republican-controlled House of Representatives for ONCE do the right thing for America, not just to please their right-wing, Tea Party base? Personally, I’m not holding my breath on the latter, but I’m hoping a couple dozen sane Republicans, if they still exist in the House of Representatives, might join with Democrats and get the job done for a change. We’ll see soon enough…
