KAINE FOR VIRGINIA UPS FALL AD BUY TO $7.5M

Richmond, VA – Today, Kaine for Virginia announced it has purchased an additional $3 million in advertising across television, print, radio and online mediums, bringing their total ad buy to $7.5 million through Election Day. The announcement follows the news that the campaign crossed more than 40,000 individual donors, adding 10,000 new donors in the last six weeks alone. The strength of Kaine’s growing grassroots support has allowed the campaign to expand its buy to reach millions more voters across Virginia. The buy includes significant investments in advertisements in Latino, African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander community media.

“The same incredible grassroots support that allowed us to make an early and strong investment in television advertisements this fall, has enabled our campaign to increase its capacity to share Governor Kaine’s message throughout the Commonwealth,” said Kaine for Virginia Communications Director Brandi Hoffine. “More than 40,000 individual donors have gotten involved in this campaign because they support Kaine’s commitment to find common ground to create opportunities and improve the lives of all Virginians. As more Virginians who are tired of the partisan gridlock in Washington continue to learn about Kaine’s forward-looking, Virginia-based approach to address our fiscal issues and strengthen the economy, we will continue to see this number grow.”
