Dave Brat cosponsored HR 4420, the No Welfare for Terrorists Act of 2016. According to the Congressional Research Service, “This bill amends the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 to make convicted terrorists ineligible to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as the food stamp program).”
Dave Brat, who is so busy writing a book and appearing on conservative talk shows, wouldn’t have the time to deal with frivolous legislation. So we must assume that this bill deals with a serious problem. There must be tens of thousands of convicted terrorists out there who are receiving food stamps. Tens of thousands, who have been sentenced to from ten years in a federal prison all the way up to death, who are bankrupting the Federal Government by using Food Stamps, I guess, at the prison commissary.
I know I speak for all 7th district residents in thanking Dave Brat for trying to protect us from this critical threat.
