Nothing too exciting, other than the lights going out as Sen. Warner delivered his opening statement in the hearing on Mike Pompeo for CIA Director. Kinda appropriate, huh? As for Sen. Kaine (see video below), he asked James Mattis about Congressional authorization of the use of force, the importance of civilian control of the military, finding peace between Palestine and Israel
Sen. Warner jokes about the lights going out, then asks Pompeo about Russian “active measures” against the United States, about protecting the morale of CIA employees, about the CIA being diverse and about making sure that our Muslim allies in our fight against ISIL continue “to have a strong partner in the United States and not one that is going to in any way discriminate based upon faith.”
