Sen. Tim Kaine argues to the Virginia Latino Leaders Council that Virginia (and the nation) has done – and will continue to do – better economically the more open and welcoming we are to people from all over the world. According to Sen. Kaine, “in a global economy, you want the global connections that people give you – people who were born somewhere else but who still have friends and contacts and know businesses around the world; people who understand other cultures, other languages, other traditions; who understand the economies of other regions of the world.”
So true and so basic. Yet this is something today’s Republican Party, including immigrant-demonizing and race-baiting Ed Gillespie, simply doesn’t understand. Yet another reason, among so many, to vote up and down the ballot for DEMOCRATS on 11/7 – and to send a message to Trump and his enablers that we aren’t going to put up with their hateful idiocy anymore.
