Per VPAP, the percentage of women in the Virginia General Assembly has been rising, but clearly is still far too low (38/140 or 27%) as far as I’m concerned. At least Virginia’s in the middle of the pack now among all the other states, but still…c’mon. Oh, by the way, it looks like there are 23 Democratic women in the House of Delegates (out of 49 — 47%, very close to an even split) vs. just 5 Republican women (out of 51 — less than 10%) and 7 Democratic women in the State Senate (out of 19 — 37%) vs. just 3 Republican women in the State Senate (out of 21 — 14%).
